§ 13-2. Threatening a public official or employee.

  • (a)

    Threatening a public official or public employee while in the performance of his duties is engaging in any verbal or written communication which threatens serious bodily injury or death to a public official or public employee while in the performance of his duties or as a result of the performance of his duties as a public official or public employee.

    (b)

    For purposes of this section, "public official or public employee" is defined as any peace officer, fireman, executive, ministerial, administrative, judicial or legislative officer, official, appointee or employee of the State of Louisiana or any political subdivision thereof.
